Internal Medicine

The 68 cases conform to the diagnosis standard of rheumatoid arthritis, and commonly have morning stiffness, joint pain and dysfunction; osteoporosis, soft tissue swelling and arthrostenosis according to the X-Ray; 55 cases are positive for rheumatoid factor test and 61 cases have higher blood sedimentation.

Treatments: prescription: Niu Xi, Qin Jiu, Dang Gui, Chuan Xiong, Tao Ren, Hong Hua, Qiang Huo, Ru Xiang, Mo Yao, Di Long, Xiang Fu, Wu Ling Zhi, Gou Qi Zi, Sang Ji Sheng, Xu Duan, Fu Zi, Gui Zhi, Gan Cao, ji Xue Teng and Wei Ling Xian. Add Hai Feng Teng and Qing Feng Teng for wind excess; add Yi Yi Ren and Ze Xie for damp excess; add Gan Jiang for cold excess; add Huang Qi for qi deficiency due to long illness; decrease the dose or subtract Fu Zi and add Mu Dan Pi for heat excess; add Cang Zhu and Huang Bai for damp and heat. One dose one day, and take it for twice in the morning and afternoon. 3 months is one course. Generally, don’t take any other antirheumatics in the treatment periods; take indomethacin only when getting severe pain in short term, 25mg for once and stop taking when the pain is relieved.

Treatment results: The total effective rate is 86.77%.
