Traumatology and Orthopedics

There are 136 cases in this group, the youngest is 20 year's old and the eldest is 64 years old; the shortest disease course is 6 days and the longest is 5 years. The basic principle is warming meridians, dispelling coldness, eliminating dampness, relieving pain, activating blood and eliminating stasis. Treatment: herbs: Zhi Nan Xing, Bai Zhi, Huang Bai, Chuan Xiong, Qiang Huo, Du Huo, Cang Zu, Wei Ling Xian, Fang Ji, Xuan Hu, Chuan Niu Xi, Gui Zhi, Tao Ren and Hong Hua. One dose a day and be decocted. Take it twice a day. One course is 14 days. Add Quan Xie and Jiang Can for numbness of muscle; add Mu Gua for limitation of flexion and extension; add Mu Zhong and Chuan Duan for lumbago.

Acupuncture: Huantiao (GB30 ), Yinmen (BL37), Yanglingquan (GB34) He-Sea Point, Influential Point of Tendon, Chengshan (BL57) and Xuanzhong (GB39) Influential Point of the Marrow, apply for reducing method. Once a day at the early stage treatment; as the syndromes getting better, do it every other day or every other two days. The warming acupuncture method can be used in winter.

Results: the total effect is 93.38%. No recurrence during a follow-up of one year in the recovered group.
