30 Cases of Infantile Recurrent Abdominal Pain Treated by Chinese Herbs and TuinaPosted by: admin on Jul 29, 2008 - 04:04 AMInfantile recurrent abdominal pain is considered as functional abdominal pain. Because of deficiency of spleen and unsound function of secretion and peristalsis of intestines and stomach in childhood, it is easy to cause intestine function disorder, ischemia of intestinal wall, or vagal excitation, leads to temporal intestinal spasm of smooth muscle, and cause paroxysmal abdominal pain. The 30 infantile cases are out-patients. Treatment: prescriptions: Dang Shen, Bai Zhu, Fu Ling, Gan Cao, Chai Hu, Bai Shao, Zhi Ke, Mu Xiang, Shi Jun Zi, Bing Lang, Shan Zha and Yan Hu Suo. Dose: according to the ages of infants. Methods: one doses a day, be decocted twice, and take the drugs in several times. Tuina on acupoints and manipulations: knead on Extra Ban Men and Extra Wai Lao Gong for 100 times each; knead on Zhongwan (CV12) Front-Mu Point of the Stomach, CV 8, Extra Dantian for 200 times each, rub on abdomen for 2 minutes, press and knead on Zusanli (ST36) He-Sea Point for 30 times and pinch on vertebral column for 3 times. Do Tuina once, combining with oral administration of herbs. One course is 5 days. Results: in the 30 cases, 16 cases are cured, 13 cases are effective and 1 case fails.
