The author have treated 36 cases of irritable bowel syndrome treated by modifying Qin Shao Tang and received satisfying curative effects. Treatment: modification of Qin Shao Tang：Huang Qin, Bai Shao, Huang Lian, Mu Xiang, Zhi Shi, Hou Pu, Chen Pi, Xing Ren, Hua Shi, Dang Gui and Gan Cao. Add Shen Qu and Chuan Xiong for abdominal pain and Diarrhea; add Da Huang for constipation; add Bai Zhu, Shan Zha and Mai Ya for digestive; add Xie Bai for server tenesmus. Oral administration, one dose for one day, one course is 7 days, and take the prescription for 1~2 courses.
Result：In the 36 cases, 29 cases are cured, 5 cases are markedly improved, and 2 cases are improved, with the total effective rate of 100%.
