Self Massage

1. Prescription
Head and Face: Baihui (GV20), Taiyang, Fengchi (GB20), Jianjing (GB21).
Chest and Abdomen: Guanyuan (CV4) Front-Mu Point of the SmallIntestine, Qihai (CV6), Zhongting (CV16), Danzhong (CV17) Front-Mu Point of the Pericardium, Xuanji (CV21), Tiantu (CV22), Zhongfu (LU1), Yunmen (LU2).
Back and Lumbar Region: Dazhui (GV14), Dingchuan, Dashu, Feishu (BL13), Pishu (BL20), Shenshu (BL23).
Arm and Leg: Chize (LU5)He-Sea Point, Kongzui (LU6)Xi-Cleft Point, Lieque (LU7)Luo-Connecting Point the Eight Confluent Point, Taiyuan (LU9)Shu-Stream Point, Yuan-Source Point, Yuji (LU10) Ying-Spring Point, Zusanli (ST36) He-Sea Point, Fenglong (ST40) Luo-Connecting Point, Taixi(KI3) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Source Point, Zhaohai (KI6) The Eihgt Confluent Point.


2. Technique of Massage
2.1 One thumb pushes sternocleidomastoid (Qiaogong) of one side, from up to down for 20-30 times. Then thumb-push another side of sternocleidomastoid (Qiaogong) for 20-30 times.
2.2 Open fingers of both hands, five fingers wipe from anterior-superior to posterior-inferior of side of head for 10-15 times.  
2.3 Five fingers-hold from calvaria to occiput, three fingers-hold from occiput to neck, repeat the operation for 3-4 times.
2.4 Hold GB20, finger-press GB20 for 1-3 minutes.
Hold GB21, finger-press GB21 for 1-3 minutes.
2.5 With the position of sitting, thumbs, index fingers or middle fingers of both hands press on Taiyang, knead up and down, front and back, rotation etc for 1-3 minutes.
2.6 With the position of sitting, one thumb presses on GV20 forcefully for 1-3 minutes. 
2.7 Thumb, index finger or middle finger press-knead LU1, LU2 for 3 minutes.
2.8 With the position of sitting, index finger or middle finger place on CV22, knead for 2-3 minutes at first, then press continually CV22 for 1 minute.
2.9 With the position of sitting or supine, five fingers pinch-knead both sides of chest, repeat the technique for 3-5 minutes.
2.10 With the position of sitting or supine, both palms press on both sides of chest-costal region, from up to down push orderly from middle breastbone to both sides of mid-line of armpit, repeat the technique for 5-7 times. This method mostly fits for man. 
With the position of sitting or supine, index finger or middle finger place on both sides of breastbone, other fingers hold both sides of chest, push form middle to lateral along interstice of ribs until mid-line of armpit. Push every interstice of ribs from up to below until 5th interstice of rib for 5-7 times. 
2.11 With the position of sitting or supine, use small thenar or big thenar, whole palm rub chest horizontally form up to below until feel warming.  
2.12 With the position of sitting or supine, index finger, middle finger, ring finger and little finger put abreast on chest CV21, finger-press downwards gradually until CV16, repeat the operation for 2-3 minutes.
With the position of sitting, one palm put on chest CV21, rub from up to down along the mid-line of breast until CV16, repeat the technique for 3-5 minutes.
2.13 With the position of sitting or standing, one hand put on opposite oxter, hold the axillary muscles from up to down and repeat the technique for 2-5 minutes. Then perform same on the other side.  
2.14 With the position of supine, both thumbs press continually Zhangmen (LR13)Front-Mu Point of the Spleen, Influential Point of Zang Organs for 1-2 minutes, knead after press.  
2.15 With the position of supine, index fingers, middle fingers, ring fingers and little fingers of both hands put on both sides of flank- costal region individually, rub from middle to lateral-inferior, repeat the technique for 5-7 minutes. 
2.16 With the position of sitting, frontal side of hollow-fists forcefully tap opposite shoulder and back region, repeat the technique for 3-5 minutes .  
2.17 For acute cough, with the position of sitting, both index fingers, both middle fingers put on both BL13 on back, forcefully press both BL13  continually for 1-3 minutes. 
2.18 For chronic cough, with the position of sitting, both thumbs put on both BL23 on lumbar region, forcefully press for 1-3 minutes continually.
2.19 For acute asthma, with the position of sitting, one thumb press-knead LU5, LU7, LU10 on arm, and ST36, ST40, KI3 on leg etc which mentioned above, continually press for 1-3 minutes.  
2.20 When chronic asthma is on sudden onset, patient takes sitting or supine position, press-knead LU5 and LU10 on arm, rub both palms and wipe on BL23 on lumbar region, take BL23 as center and rub lumbar region lengthways until feel warming. 
2.21 With the position of sitting or supine, take your arms abduction, one thumb places on lateral side of the upper arm, other four fingers put on middle side of the upper arm, pinch-hold arm from up to down until to wrist with rhythm, repeat the technique for 5-7 minutes.
