Objective: To discuss and search the effective therapy method for autism.

Method: Sixty children of autism were randomly divided into electro-acupuncture combined with behavior therapy group (30 cases) and behavior therapy group (30 cases). Two groups were treated with routine behavior therapy. Points including Baihui (GV20), Sishencong, Shenting (GV24), Benshen (GB13), Yintang, Naohu (GV17), Naokong (GB19), Neiguan (PC6) Luo-Connecting Point the Eight Confluent Point, scalp acupuncture at Speech Areas I, II, III were added on electro-acupuncture combined with behavior therapy group. We observe the effect of the two groups and test the picture and vocabulary table (PPVT)and behavior ability of the children.

Result: The total effective rate of electro-acupuncture combined with behavior therapy group is 86.7%, which is better than that of behavior therapy group (56.7%) (P<0.05). It has significant enhancement in sensation,association,body, self-care ability on electro-acupuncture combined with behavior therapy group(P<0.05), and was better than behavior therapy group in sensation, body, self-care ability(P<0.05). The score of PPVT in the two groups has no obvious improvement after treatment(P>0.05).

Conclusion: Electro-acupuncture combined with behavior therapy can significantly relieve clinical symptoms of autism, but it dose not improve the intelligence.
